This weekend saw the launch of the Surrey FA Women’s Flexible League, with 7-a-side games running every second Sunday of the month until 30 June 2019.
Local club Reigate Women FC was only founded in September 2017 but had such an enthusiastic response from its players that they have entered three squads into the league, known as the Reigate Women FC Lionesses, Reigate Women FC Tigresses and Reigate Women FC Panthers.
The opening weekend of the tournament for Reigate saw a club derby between the Lionesses and the Tigresses in Priory Park. It was a close game, with the score 0-0 at half-time. However, a change of goalkeeper for the Lionesses proved key, with Anais Escalona moving from goalkeeper to midfield to score the first goal and Steph Thorbes then adding a second.

Kingswood Ladies 2 – 5 ESPS Phoenix
Lyne FC Ladies A – A Woking Diamonds
Palace Pumas Caterham 1 – 2 Sheen Mounties

The second group of fixtures will take place on Sunday 9 December 2018.
